“Cave Painting” is a recreation of imagery found inside of Spain’s La Pasiega cave, thought to have been made 64,000 years ago by Neanderthals. Created in PaintingVR by Oisoi Studio for the Meta Quest platform. Printed at 20″ x 20″ with archival inks on Moab Entrada Bright 290gsm cotton rag fine art paper at Solas Studio in Manhattan.

“Wisecarver 1.5” is a gallery of virtual paintings created in “Painting VR” by Oisoi Studio. This collection of 34 works was created in a single session and uploaded to Spatial in January of 2023.

“Wisecarver Gallery” was my second attempt at world building within the Horizon platform. It is a giant white cube gallery space meant to house a rotating exhibition of Meta Horizon 3D assets either created by myself or other creators. Pictured here, poking it’s head just above the balcony, is one of the most popular shared assets within the game; a crude yet charming “seagull” created by an unknown contributor scaled to a monumental stature. Here, I began to experiment with developing functionality into these worlds, creating working teleports between different areas and a working pixel-art mini-game.

“V a p o r L A K E” on Meta’s Horizon platform was my first attempt at world building. It is focused entirely on replicating the aesthetics of the mid 2010’s art movement known as “vaporwave” through the use of sound, color and basic shapes.

“Kyudo Korner” on the Meta Horizon platform was my third attempt at world building. It was created out of my own desire for a relaxing and slow-paced archery simulator. I practice traditional archery in meatspace and sought to emulate the aesthetics of traditional Japanese archery.
“Goodbye TikTok” is a nearly 4-hour long compilation uploaded on January 18th 2025 as an attempt at publicly archiving my @wisecarver account. A complete national ban was to take effect on January 19th and although American access to the app was restored a mere 14 hours later – it remains unavailable in app stores at the time of this writing (Feb 1st, 2025).
